This 13.5-acre landmark has been transformed into the new WLT headquarters, preserving one of Wilton’s earliest family farms. Central to our marquee property is the 19th-century Daniel Offutt Barn, a historical gem that stands as a testament to the region’s rich agricultural heritage and serves as a multifunctional meeting space with two bathrooms and the Executive Director’s office. The preserve’s meadow trails wind through a picturesque landscape, providing ample opportunities for hikers, birders, and nature enthusiasts to immerse themselves in the area’s natural beauty. A notable highlight is the native chestnut tree orchard, WLT’s American Chestnut Tree Germ Plasm Orchard, which is a collaboration with the American Chestnut Foundation to save the tree from the brink of extinction. With its diverse attractions, Chestnut Meadows Nature Preserve promises a memorable adventure for all who explore its grounds.
