Habitat restoration at Slaughter Fields.
Through Stewardship Sundays, community members of all ages come together to care for Wilton’s natural landscapes and strengthen their connection to the environment. Participants help maintain trails, restore biodiversity, and support the long-term health of our preserves. This welcoming, hands-on program is open to everyone who wants to make a meaningful difference in our local environment.

What You’ll Do
• Restore: identify and remove invasive plants
• Plant: transplant native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers
• Maintain: ensure trails are clear, safe, and accessible to visitors

What to Bring
• Clothing: Closed-toe shoes, a brimmed hat, long sleeves, and pants

• Materials: Native plant materials for restoration projects
• Safety Supplies: First aid kit, bug spray, and poison ivy detox wipes
Important Notes
This program takes place outdoors in variable weather conditions, with potential exposure to ticks and poison ivy. Volunteers are expected to dress appropriately for outdoor work, follow all safety guidelines, and be respectful of other participants, staff, and the environment.
